Days ago I had the chance to listen to a CD that won me over from the very first play. Genre: lounge jazz, a variation of jazz with "relaxing" atmospheres and soft, non-aggressive sounds that make the genre more accessible compared to traditional jazz.
The title of the CD is “Cromofonie,” the debut work of the Cesare Vincenti Free Quintet. Even the title suggests an explosion of colors, and listening to it reveals an album played with great passion, the result of a deep understanding among the musicians. The quintet is composed of Cesare Vincenti (guitar), Lucio Bruni (piano), Andrea Buriani (drums), Enrico Lazzarini (double bass), and Michele Vignani (saxophone), all excellent musicians with extensive experience and important collaborations.
In the 8 tracks of the album, the rhythm section is never intrusive, the piano and guitar intertwine delicately, while the saxophone adds warm and enveloping melodies.
The album is a perfect companion for moments of relaxation alone, inviting you to take some time for yourself, perhaps during a car trip, but also for special occasions with friends or simply as a soundtrack for work, study, or to accompany the more peaceful moments of life.

Among my favorites is "Enry Funky", written by Cesare Vincenti and Enrico Lazzarini, a piece that stands out for its infectious rhythm and energy. It is proof that the album does not simply cradle the listener but also knows how to give a burst of vitality, with a groove that makes you want to move.
"Cromofonie" is a very classy album that manages to be both sophisticated and, at the same time, accessible to everyone.
“Cromofonie” is a listening experience I recommend both to jazz lovers and those who are not.
