They are indefinable because they speak of humanity. I’m lucky to have inherited the 33s along with the dschi of Fortis from the sister of my mime boyfriend, who I never understood why she was getting rid of them. I was there, so besides some by Bowie, Sylvian, and even the Culture Club—when they were still hand-pressing the LP numbers on the vinyl next to the paper—it was cool.... They’re duplicates, but back then the Italian VBirgin had the double underlining in zigzag while the German one didn’t; they are “different presses.” At that time, they were still making them in West Germany. I jealously guard these duplicates. I have the Swiss and/or German editions now (now?!... this happened about 20 years ago). I even have the Italian editions of some records. Anyway, it’s not that I’ve listened to Lolli a lot, so I wouldn’t even know how to define it... I inherited it; it’s there in a box since I’m also trying to get rid of it, in fact, I’m already dismantling one of my setups.
