Count Your Blessings is the first LP by the British band Bring Me The Horizon released in 2006. These five guys manage to set themselves a step ahead (or almost) of other trend bands of the period by offering a violent Deathcore that became very fashionable among the "emo kids" (because emo music is not like Rites Of Spring...). Bring Me The Horizon doesn't mind this audience at all because they have been able to fully appreciate an album like this Count Your Blessings.

The album opens with Pray For Plagues, which is a bit the summary of what we will hear with growl (overproduced?) and scream that violently alternate over a ferocious and ever (?) unpredictable musical base.
The intro of Tell Slater Not To Wash His Dick reminds me a lot of a Slayer-style solo, but the song... Resumes the previous one in almost every respect. Boring? Maybe not, but definitely too predictable.
For Stevie Wonder's Eyes Only is the song I enjoyed the most in this work, but despite this, there's not much to say as the three songs just heard are very similar (this one has more breakdowns, rightly so).
A Lot Like Vegas, despite its duration of only 2 minutes, is quite a decent piece (especially because it doesn't bore).
Now, unfortunately, I have to skip Black And Blue, so I'll talk about Slow Dance, an instrumental piece that can be listened to without too many surprises.
After Liquor & Love Lost and Medusa, we find Fifteen Fathoms, Counting, which is the track I appreciated the most in this work and still continue to listen to. At first glance, I thought "Ah, but this is the classic uninspired slow piece that tough bands put in albums just to show they can do something different," and instead... it's the classic uninspired slow piece that tough bands put in their albums just to show they can do something different, but despite this, it's very enjoyable!
The album closes with Off The Heezay, which manages to raise the brutality level of the record even further (incredible).

Final opinion? The album tries to be too brutal, ending up being banal and predictable. There are some good and original ideas, but they end up carving out a very small space within the album. If you're not biased, you'll find yourself skipping more than once.

BMTH presents impressive musical skills, blistering solos, frenzied guitars, strings that fly off the instruments.

Frustration, malice, anger, screams spewed out to the edge of reason, almost terrifying growls.

"Count Your Blessings wins the award for being the first true Metal album for 'bimbiminkia', this genre became so popular among Emo and various losers after its release."

"The irony is that now they make completely different music... only one member that can be considered at least decent."
