THE REVIEW

He was double and fell thunderously from the sky sensitively.

If Christ were alive today, he would play the harmonica, the perfect image of a hobo; he would have a crumbled, rough, even messy voice if you like. But it would be as seductive as few.
There would be cries of miracle for His return, atheists and not would stand with their hands in their pockets, astonished. Then my sister would wake up and shout candid camera!
What nonsense...

Dylan totally nailed it in '66 with this album. He had achieved the greatness of Achilles, the glory of Alexander, and the cowardice of Statius.

The cover would not look bad between the naughty smiling Mona Lisa and why not, even among the famous frescoes of the Sistine.
Michelangelo came down from the sky with his hands in the veil, when Bobby was staring at the sky and wondering why there was no beer.

Michelangelo < Bob, how about having a couple of blondes with me? >

"Blonde on Blonde" is said to be the first double album in music history.
"Blonde on Blonde," many consider Dylan's peak.
"Blonde on Blonde," electric blues with acoustic and poetic moments like never before.
"Blonde on Blonde," the destination Highway 61 leads to.

Now there's fresh air here with me. May St. Mark protect me, in this life and the next. Opening a bottle of wine, I realize I don't have one. Everything is just a dream. How can I not own one if I realize it while I'm trying to open it?

The fourth time this has happened to me this month.

Going back to talking about poetry, how can we not remember Johanna? A psychedelic haze of words, crystals of drugs denied by Dylan himself.

and this visions of Johanna are now all that remains...

As someone said on DeBaser, the most magical and nocturnal in rock history.

Hector came down before the walls of Troy, where Achilles was waiting for him. Bob Dylan came down from the mountain, where His sad lady was waiting for him.
Your grandmother came down the stairs too quickly, where Death was waiting for her.
I just went down; and to this day I do not regret it in the slightest.

In 'Blonde on Blonde,' blues, country, rock, and folk are astonishingly blended: bizarre, absurd, visionary, passionate, poetic, and romantic lyrics blend with a new sound... richer and more complex than anything Dylan had done before.

Many at the time considered his 'electric turn' a 'betrayal,' a 'retreat' from the battlefield, but Dylan just wanted to do something new, something different.

"Blonde on Blonde is a monumental work combining multiple genres into a single, innovative sound still relevant today."

"It is from this awareness, that redemption is born: the redemption of doing only and exactly what he wanted, regardless of everything and everyone."

'Blonde on Blonde' is the first true work of art of rock.

'Sad-Eyed Lady of the Lowland'... one of the highest peaks of rock music.

"With 'Blonde on Blonde' Dylan becomes a fire thief and ignites the arid prairies of poetry."

"An essential album to understand who we are and where we come from."

The well of that grating and iron voice…a voice that’s beautiful because it’s ugly and ugly because it’s beautiful.

Blonde on Blonde isn’t necessarily the most beautiful, but it’s the one closing the circle, and it’s the most visionary.
