THE REVIEW

All metallers know that "The Lord of the Rings" could have been a better movie. If they had included at least one song by Blind Guardian, it would have been a masterpiece.

But don't despair because we will talk about Blind Guardian today. And we will talk about their most "Lord of the Rings"-like album: "Nightfall In Middle Earth". This is an album that talks about The Lord of the Rings with very epic and arpeggiated songs. Blind Guardian are often nicknamed the minstrels because they frequently play with arpeggios. The album has 22 songs, but the real songs are only ten, the rest are just intros. I like this idea of putting intros before the songs because it makes the song more exciting. The songs on this album are all powerful except for the intros and "Noldor". "Noldor" is a song that talks about the elven people, and even though it's a slow song, it's very engaging. But I definitely wouldn't choose it as one of the best on the album. In fact, when talking about the legendary Blind, the first three songs that come to mind are:

  1. "Mirror Mirror" (one of the fastest and most challenging drum pieces in metal, but also a captivating song)
  2. "Nightfall" (alternates power pieces with epic pieces. It's definitely the most engaging)
  3. "The Minstrel" (the best intro in the history of power metal music. Very epic and romantic, even if it lasts less than a minute)

So, in conclusion, I would say that of all the Guardians' albums, this is the most recommended for purchase.

Stay Metal forever blind!

An immortal work, a jewel shining with ancient reflections and visions.

The vocal performance is exhilarating, almost certainly the best Hansi has ever offered.
