THE REVIEW

When Osbourne took command of the Black Sabbath that year, he deliberately set about relentlessly producing timeless masterpieces!

Yes, not quite like a gentleman with tight strings who didn’t make big demands: on dark-rock, so to speak, it had already been said elsewhere but Ozzy was clever enough to understand that he had to free the music from any culture! This is, yes, his nature! So he pissed off the hippies He pissed off the critics He pissed off the musicians but was loved by the metalheads Hell of a nuisance will make a show for idiots which, you know, what a drag!

But if I think of "Vol. 4" an irrational erection mechanism is triggered when listening to "Wheels of Confusion" not to mention "Cornucopia," the mellotron "Changes" and the finale "Under the Sun." But the record is already over! Oh sir, you don’t believe that the rest of the tracks truly are arcane? For as I do not understand what’s the use of "Tomorrow's Dream"! And what about "FX" what a ridiculous title, better I escape now!

Those who called Osbourne Ozzy the "proletarian of heavy music" were not wrong, I tell you because he bit the head off a flying rat! Don't misunderstand, it wasn’t masked don’t think I've cheated I clearly tell you it wasn’t Robin’s friend! Asking Black Sabbath to innovate was like asking the Bible to tell the story of another god. (P. Scaruffi)

Black Sabbath presented themselves as a band devoid of any fear towards sonic experimentation.

Tony Iommi’s riffs shine with their own light yet never seem decontextualized from the melodic structure.

"Vol. 4 marks a stylistic turn from the previously published works by Black Sabbath."

"Under the Sun... a true masterpiece, opening with a very dark riff and ending in a chilling solo."

If there is one term that can describe this album, it is 'discontinuous'.

The general impression is that of a jumble of poorly developed ideas, left only in potential, that do not go beyond the dimension of filler.
