THE REVIEW

If monotony had the appearance of a woman in heat, she would definitely have relations with BRMC, because the second attempt by the American trio, after their good debut in 2002, already sounds old and outdated from the first listen, where the children of the wild "Marlon Brando", despite so much pseudo energy and passion, end up following the same patterns.

If at first, the single "Stop" seems to excite with the nice riff, after a couple of listens, it seems predictable and monotonous, like "Six barrel shotgun", practically identical to "Whatever happened to my rock'n roll", the very first single of the band, present on the debut album. Just sing along to notice it. Acid guitars, distorted bass, and post-grunge atmospheres are not enough to captivate the new rock devotees, lacking in dynamism and creativity.

The best moments appear to be the ones with ample breathing space, where the psychedelic component emerges, but the more "driven" tracks seem too self-similar. "In like the rose" and "Suddenly", the most solid moments, are not enough to justify the purchase of a flat record, further supported by melodic parts and static and heavy vocals.

A mediocre record, and even if the Stones shout "It's only rock'n roll and I like it", I reply this time "I don't like it". Despite all the advertising they have, there is better in Italy, just look around.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (often shortened to BRMC) is an American rock band formed in 1998, associated with dark, guitar-driven alternative/garage rock that reviewers frequently connect to shoegaze textures and the influence of The Jesus and Mary Chain. Their catalog is noted for both heavy, distorted rock and stylistic left turns such as the acoustic-rooted album “Howl.”

The sound is the same, the grit is superior, the choruses are memorable - that’s what rock ’n’ roll is made of.

I don’t know, Psychocandy. This album will sell a lot, and for once it’s right that way.

They play a kind of dark garage, a little sick, called 'shoegazer'.

Songs that meld into the ears, sick if not incomprehensible lyrics, all driven by ringing guitars, dominant bass, and the power of despair.
