Hello Billy...
Can you tell me what the hell happened to you?
I had waited with so much hope for your first solo album, and now that I've finally listened to it, I am deeply disappointed...

I hoped that the experience with Zwan was a fling, I hoped that the "let's all get along" atmosphere that permeated the music and the attitudes of the group was only temporary... and instead, after significant declarations of intent ("this group is what I have always dreamed of" and similar stuff), we moved to ridiculous figures (the cancellation of a mini Italian tour because few tickets were sold...), then to the dissolution of the band and finally to this solo adventure of yours, which alas, mirrors exactly the poverty of ideas of the previous work...

I remember when a few years ago I saw you take the stage in Bologna entirely dressed in white, to play the sweetest and slowest Smashing pieces, but we all knew that would only be one side of the coin, and this awareness literally thrilled me and your fans.
In fact, shortly afterwards you changed, returned completely dressed in black, and the guitar, strummed until 5 minutes before, you literally thrashed with "Bullet With Butterfly Wings," "Zero," "Cherub Rock," etc...

Now there is only Billy Corgan dressed in white, and it's an incomplete Billy Corgan... where has that tall, lanky, tormented soul gone? Where has the grit, the anger gone?
Is it possible that you are that half-naked guy on the cover, in a pose halfway between Bjork's "Medulla" and a soft porn cover of a gay magazine?
I don't want to believe you have become so soft... react, damn it!

Being number 1 is not enough to do well: Maradona had De Napoli who ran for two, when Agnelli jokingly invited Platini to quit smoking, "Le Roi" replied: "The important thing is that Bonini doesn't smoke, he runs for me too!", the immense Michael Jordan wouldn't have won 6 NBA titles without Scottie Pippen...
And that's why I deeply hope you can get closer to your squire Jimmy Chamberlin: addicted to the core, unreliable, certainly, but still the one who with his style embellished your art.

This CD is not bad, it's simply useless... I already know that in a few months it will be on a shelf gathering dust, while "Mellon Collie" will be consuming itself in the player... it's an anonymous CD, and therefore, it's not even worth talking about the individual songs...

Goodbye Billy, despite everything you remain one of my favorites, but please... next time... SHOW SOME BALLS!

Electronics dominate, with sounds, however, never glossy nor trite, sometimes almost redundant and rarefied, but all measured with care.

Despite his character, wrong choices, egocentrism, or unlikability, the fact remains that he is someone who has written and can still write beautiful songs.
