Be-Bop Deluxe were an English art/glam/progressive rock band led by guitarist-singer Bill Nelson. Active from 1972 to 1978, they released five studio albums noted for virtuosic guitar work, sleek arrangements, and a shift from glam-inflected rock toward more modern, synth-accented sounds. Their best-known hit is Ships in the Night.

Known for art-rock/glam/prog blend and standout guitar work. Worked with producer John Leckie in the mid-1970s. Post-breakup, Nelson formed Bill Nelson’s Red Noise and pursued a prolific solo career.
