LA RECENSIONE

Battista – The Sewer of Behavior (Orangle / New Groovers/Universal)

Everything is clear from the very first notes of this record, with its destructive force and acidic violence, what and how the soundtrack of this broken world should be. Yes... you can just look the other way. Everything will be fine, right? “And you don't care as long as you're stuffed, swallow and count until you burst.” He sings in "The Sewer," which is essentially an open declaration of where Battista stands. Just listen to this very track (title track and first track of the album) that opens this barrage of songs to understand. “Sooner or later it will happen / This story will end / I’d say ours is a perverse game / If you’re looking for blame, look in the mirror.” What will happen? Who knows... Tanks also leaving from Italy (didn't it say somewhere in our constitution that Italy renounces war?) does anyone see them? Then it's fair for Battista to sing at the top of his lungs “It will be war to exterminate / Another one to start again." Oh how tragic... Oh how defeatist... Damn right, I say! I stand with Battista... Shall we call it dystopian punk? Can only the production houses of the crap they put out on apps to dull the youth be dystopian? Then dystopian it is... And so, amid the punk rampages, there are also, especially to underscore the choruses, dark, apocalyptic melodies, with a scent of industrial like NIN. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful...
