THE REVIEW

It's the story of a boy who had become completely impervious to the world. Neither joy nor the madness he encountered daily could disturb him anymore ("Generator"); his reputation no longer interested him, and he didn't have much to ask from the community he was immersed in ("Too Much To Ask")... he was indifferent even to himself. None of the directions he had taken so far had been the right or at least the lucky one, and he saw possible ways out ahead of him ("No Direction")... the zoo he had been placed in seemed completely out of control, and he had no desire left to hope for tomorrow ("Tomorrow"), and the crumpled photo he kept in his wallet was a kind of wound that fed itself at the center of his thoughts ("Two Babies In The Dark"), a constant buzz in his brain that not even the gentle memory of lullabies sung sweetly by his mother's soft voice could soothe... it was as if the sky was falling on him ("Heaven Is Falling").

These feelings reluctantly led him to lean over the Devil's Bridge, an ancient Romanesque structure, more than 800 meters towering over the rocks that were once the bed of a joyful stream. Sitting on the parapet, he looked down, trying to penetrate the black of the moonless night, to try and see at the bottom his little radioactive garden ("Atomic Garden"). He was searching in that mountain darkness for some answer to one of his endless questions ("The Answer"), but he only found ideas for new questions that did nothing but feed that fertile mined labyrinth his mind had become ("Fertile Crescent"). The exit had become merely a "Chimaera". But suddenly, he noticed, among the branches of a pine tree standing against the immense night, a small star... he looked for others in vain and immediately returned his gaze to it, fearing it might no longer be where he had found it... he realized that his legs had brought him back on this side of the parapet, and in an instant, he was in the car speeding down the winding road at a frenzied speed... continuing to peer at the sky in search of his new friend.

In his head, like a mantra, words kept buzzing that sounded incomprehensible to him at the time but haven't left him even after thirteen years... "It's Only Entertainment". "... to give substance to our ideas, we must take the earth for what it is, carefully examine its different parts, and by induction, judge the future from what exists in the present" Buffon, Natural History - 1749

"Generator" saved my life.
