If Tim Lambesis from As I Die Lying wanted to create an album filled with clichés and assorted stereotypes, then I believe his initial hypothesis has been perfectly realized in the Austrian Death Machine, the side project with which the singer, also a producer (and in this case, involved in playing all the instruments), chooses to pay homage to someone who originally started as an actor and then wisely (...) decided to become the governor of California, better known as Arnold Schwarzenegger. But let's not go further with comments or considerations (which could even become personal) and let's say that the seventeen tracks aim to be metal in the most "ignorant" way possible and rely on a composition style that can easily be described as simple. Between thrash metal and metal-core, with appearances from various guests (among others from Killswitch Engage, Haste The Day, and Daath) and very little creative substance. I have no doubt that Tim Lambesis had a great time putting it all together (the pieces were composed in a very short time and that says a lot...) and that there's an element of irony is a fact, just read some of the titles ("All Of The Songs Sound The Same", "Not So Hidden Track", or "What It's Like To Be A Singer At Band Practice"), but forgive me if I dare to say that it is a work to overlook, because musically irrelevant, and that it should have remained confined to the close circle of family, friends, and acquaintances, yet it found a way to further clog up a market that doesn't need to increase the quantities of products being circulated at all.
