Canadian singer-songwriter from Toronto, best known for the global hit Black Velvet from her 1989 debut. She won the Grammy for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance in 1991 and followed with albums including Rockinghorse (1992) and A‑lan‑nah (1995). Active since the 1980s.
