Black, as black as pitch, this debut EP. And not just for the tracks, a beautiful and highly successful blend of electronic music, 4/4 beats, techno-like, synth-pop, and catchy pop melodies that draw from the dark arsenal of music (from the '80s onwards). Black not only because the single (for which they will also make a video) is the title track and gives the album its chromatic imprint. Black because when you listen to the lyrics, there's not much to feel cheerful about. Some examples? From "Nero" itself: "tired of this life, tired of myself, it's an endless war, that I keep losing." Or in "Tempi bui" (the only truly rock track, similar to U2, clearly wave and melancholic); "pay taxes and die, not immediately, never question what you see on TV, I know you can't take it anymore, I know you can't take it anymore". Got it? There's someone out there, in the superficial fake alt-rock Italian world, who's willing to plunge into the darkness and write lyrics like these. Alan has the courage to do it. And they do it well. Congratulations!

Summary by Bot

Alan's debut EP NERO delivers a masterful fusion of electronic, techno, and synth-pop sounds with dark, introspective lyrics. The tracks explore themes of personal struggle and societal dissatisfaction. The standout rock-influenced track 'Tempi bui' adds a melancholic U2-like vibe. This EP is a brave artistic statement in the Italian alt-rock scene.
