Altered States Of America. Can madness be accompanied by genius?
Well yes, folks, it absolutely can, and without invoking real past geniuses who brought madness to music, we can talk about a huge musical folly for this record. In the best way, because it's a rabid madness, I would even venture to say calculated, that makes up this album. The peculiarity? 100 songs. All under one minute long, totaling about twenty minutes of grind.
Drum machines pushed to the impossible, intensely distorted guitars, occasional and, imagine that, ludicrous samples, furiously and relentlessly fast. Some resemble songs, others are just spoken titles. Surely, no track is normal. What to say? There's not much else to add, do the track-by-track review yourself.
Meanwhile, listen to these altered states of America. Brilliant.
This CD contains 100 songs in about 20 minutes.
This CD can therefore be considered a fun and claustrophobic critique of society in all its facets, whether you like it or not.
An inferno made of alcohol, drugs, and madness, lots of madness.
A colossus of 100 tracks in just 20 minutes, exaggeration, denial and cancellation of melody and song form.
