The Profile

American singer-songwriter and visual artist, co-founder of The Moldy Peaches. Known for witty, surreal lyrics and a warm baritone, he released a string of acclaimed solo albums and later created the film/album project “Adam Green’s Aladdin.”

Co-founded The Moldy Peaches with Kimya Dawson; solo releases on Rough Trade include Friends of Mine, Gemstones, Jacket Full of Danger, Sixes & Sevens, Minor Love, and Engine Of Paradise. Known for theatrical live shows and a distinctive baritone. Also wrote and directed the feature “Adam Green’s Aladdin” (2016). Not to be confused with the American horror director Adam Green (of Frozen, 2010).

Reviews highlight Adam Green’s energetic, chaotic live presence and concise, melodic songwriting. Friends of Mine is praised for its acoustic-and-strings charm and biting sarcasm. Gemstones wins for replay value and eclectic influences. One review of Frozen (the film by director Adam Green) notes strong tension but clunky logic.
