THE REVIEW

2010.

I'm a big fan of the Australian kangaroo-rockers reviewed here and I find myself truly embarrassed by an album like this:

It's not a compilation.

It's not a soundtrack, or rather only two tracks are present in the film in question: the first and the last (both in the album and in the film) "Shoot To Thrill" and "Highway To Hell".

Ok it’s 15 AC/DC classics, but who cares? At least another 20 are missing for a decent compilation, but it wasn't a compilation, right?

Boh, I don't know what to think.

It's as useless as "Who Made Who" which was also an album taken from a soundtrack, and perhaps the sadness is greater now, because "Who Made Who" was from 1986 and it was assumed that certain commercial operations were unrepeatable... and moreover, it had at least 3 unreleased tracks, this one doesn't.

It’s worth noting that the 15 tracks of "Iron Man 2" are all different from the 9 of "Who Made Who" as if done on purpose... maybe in the future, another film will come out with a soundtrack (or not) by AC/DC with yet different tracks so finally the complete triple compilation of the three films will come out to the despair of all the fans.

Don't buy it unless you collect everything by AC/DC.

Tracklist:

'Shoot To Thrill'
'Rock 'N' Roll Damnation'
'Guns For Hire'
'Cold Hearted Man'
'Back In Black'
'Thunderstruck'
'If You Want Blood (You've Got It)'
'Evil Walks'
'T.N.T.'
'Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be'
'Have a Drink on Me'
'The Razor's Edge'
'Let There Be Rock'
'War Machine'
'Highway To Hell'

Summary by Bot

The Iron Man 2 album by AC/DC is criticized for being neither a proper compilation nor a true soundtrack, including only two tracks featured in the film. The album lacks unreleased material and many classic hits, making it a redundant purchase for casual fans. The review suggests it’s only suitable for collectors who want every AC/DC release. Comparison with the 1986 Who Made Who album highlights missed opportunities.
