On October 28th at 7:30 PM at the Piccolo Teatro Dell’Arte in Rome, Via Teano 251 (admission € 10.00 plus membership card € 2.00; info and reservations 340 511 5110), Gabriella De Nardo will take the stage of this charming boutique theater to present the first stop of a series of meetings dedicated to The Journey, the piano tribute by Francesco Di Giovanni to the eternal theme of wandering. The direction of this concert show, blending music and conversations with the author, will be by Cecilia Errede. Lighting by Fabio Sciscio. Among the pieces scheduled: The Journey (The Departure, The Hotel, The Unforeseen, The Stay), Prelude Tango Fugue, Prelude Andante Allegro Antico, and Variations on Utopia.

This album for Francesco Di Giovanni represents a return to his original training, the classical one. An artistic path conducted through the contagion of his writing originally born for guitar with the rigorous pianism of Gabriella De Nardo: and this is how classical rigor ends up being contaminated with the languages of Di Giovanni’s passions of yesterday and today: jazz and rock. The result is a delicate and at the same time full of surprises project, composed yet totally outside conventions.
