Hello, my name is Sonia. I am 23 years old and I study Music Criticism at University. My passion for music started in mid-2007 when I discovered Queen and Led Zeppelin. I began with Rock (Deep Purple and Pink Floyd are my absolute loves) and then Metal came a year later, when someone in class took the trouble to lend me Fear Of The Dark by Iron Maiden. But it was with Judas Priest that a world unknown to me and terribly fascinating opened up. Having attended the Art School in Siena, I did not want to continue by doing the Academy, for example, or other schools related to Art, but I chose the Faculty of Humanities, dedicating myself to music from a theoretical point of view. I prefer to leave practiced music to those who know how to do it.
However, I continued to paint on my own and here music proved to be fundamental. A fundamental point of inspiration has accompanied me and continues to accompany me in everything I do professionally and otherwise.
After various experiences in underground Italian Metal sites, I decided to stop and write on my own because I found more satisfaction in creating my own things without time limits or anything else, rather than creating things dictated by someone else. After all, being an "ARTIST" (many of my acquaintances call me that) for me the word LIMIT does not exist. For me, there is only freedom, creativity, and improvisation.
If music remains my main professional activity, I also owe thanks to ART in general. To cinema (and to KUBRICK who changed my life), to painting (which has given me and is still giving me a lot). I always try to collaborate with other artists who have the desire to experiment culturally.
Listening to Metal, I do not define myself as a metalhead, but as a consumer of Heavy Metal because I find that term very limited and confined to a single musical genre. My musical tastes range from Metal to New Wave, to classical music, to Rock up to 80s Pop but basically whatever I like I listen to. I don’t care about labels. They only serve to give order.
Darkhaos (which in correct English would be Dark Chaos, dark chaos) was born as my personal showcase to introduce my Art (if I want to define it in this way, even though I don’t define myself as an Artist). The name alludes to an underground world where chaos reigns, which symbolically is the equivalent of the Human Unconscious.
