"Ferocity", never was an album title more fitting. This mini CD consists of four tracks, and was delivered by a band of psychopathic maniacs, A Buried Existence!
I read in their bio that the band consists of members from already established bands in the extreme underground scene, Glacial Fear, Zora, Land of Hate, and Special Guest on Guitar Solos the axe man from Uranium235.
Let's move on to analyze "Ferocity" track by track. The CD opens with "Revenge" a track that brings to mind old Voivodian atmospheres, an alien song that finds its strength in the Psycho arpeggios of guitarist GLK and a truly impressive rhythmic base.
The second track is "Perverted Church", a concentrate of violence and anger, and here the piercing screams of singer Marko reign. The piece is short as the old American HC school teaches, no frills, a direct and violent song characterized by synth parts that make everything more industrial and alien. Noteworthy is the fine guitar solo spewed from Francesco's guitar.
Let's move on to "Reborn In The Sick", and here the game changes. The band produces a hypnotic and powerful track, you immediately understand that you are not dealing with a typical novice band, and when class is not just water, the result is what I'm listening to, spectacular rhythmic base and hypnotic riffs, you are projected into another dimension, once again notable is the singer's performance, a powerful and vitriolic voice.
The last song is titled "New World Disaster" and once again I'm amazed by the variety of ideas and solutions present in this short masterpiece delivered by these four Calabrian killers. Coroner, Voivod, Jester Beast, these are the names that come to mind while listening to this track. Nothing is left to chance, the bass weaves webs of notes over a perfect drum, the guitar creates genius riffs to say the least, ultra-sick distorted arpeggios, voice once again perfect even in the short melodic clean part.
In conclusion, I can say that I recommend listening to this band of veterans to everyone, especially to those who want to expand their musical horizons and listen to experimental yet violent and never clichéd music. Here are A Buried Existence, a new deviant creature that will definitely claim more victims.
