THE REVIEW

Someone among you, among us, called me into question yesterday. Listened last night; I vomited down two thoughts on paper and pen. These are the impressions I had.

"The two guitars tuned underground, beneath entire buildings collapsed on themselves; amplifiers ready to explode after uncontrolled overheating, unable to sustain for long the Sludge-Doom produced by cavernous instruments. The voice, or rather the saturated barking, is a deep scream-growl like a person possessed by emaciated, skinned demons. They sink, they make you sink. They create a lowered, angry, drooling sonic wall; unstable, confused, pachydermic. Bass and drums try to join in, moving in step. But the step is insecure, clandestine, tragic. Funeral slowdowns, perpetual distortions; everything solidifies into imposing mountains of dying granite; closed, cursed nocturnal visions; and it is total darkness all around. It is a journey that references Bongzilla, Ufomammut, Sumac; to a lesser extent, also Sleep. No glimmer, no hope; no allowances. No breathing; a cyanotic apnea. The auditory chaos takes shape from putrid mud; it develops, grows, and invades my mind like a web built in the shadowy lands of Mordor. A brief introduction already grasped by piercing screams; the follow-up consists of four sinister, swollen, abnormal tracks nearing final putrefaction".

They are five, they come from the Murge Baresi; they are called Zolfo and it shows...THE DEEPEST ABYSS...
