Zoetrope are a Chicago thrash/hardcore-street-metal band formed in 1977. They released Amnesty (1985) and A Life Of Crime (1987). Reviews highlight raw production, standout tracks, and the presence of drummer-singer Barry Stern (R.I.P.). Louie Svitek joined for A Life Of Crime.

Formed in Chicago in 1977. Amnesty originally released in 1985 and reissued in 2000 (Century Media) with demo material. A Life Of Crime released in 1987; Louie Svitek appears on later recordings. Barry Stern later played with Trouble (appears on their 1990 self-titled and 1992 Manic Frustration releases). Calvin Humphrey is nicknamed "Willis" (as noted in reviews).
