THE REVIEW

The Zeni Geva offer us this delicate pair of shimmering scissors that torment the spirit and hearing of anyone who dares to approach... they torture gently and skillfully, much like Lawrence Olivier extracting Dustin Hoffman's teeth in "Marathon Man": with bloody class and elegance.

"10000 Light Years" is a great album of instrumental-noise-metal music and more, filled with "high" influences, see William Burroughs in "Interzona 2", where the blinding and ferrous heat of these crazy Japanese artists unleashes at the speed of light... indeed: music that seems born from an alien mint to this world, no wonder recently acquired by the Neurot roster, masters in blending the most divergent genres yet united by the embrace of introspection, tireless sound exploration, and psychosis.
The tempo changes are furious and disorienting, shifting from the more classic industrial metronomic fury to almost-jazz in the mentioned "Interzona 2", from the extrasystolic drumming of the alienating "Auto-Fuck" to the cold, disorienting rain of "Last Nanosecond": a wall of synthesizers and stripped noises.
The singing, barely present, is the "scripted" scream of Kazuyuki Null, remaining unintelligible and cacophonic both for its force and its language, likely unknown to most.

A very "heavy" album and difficult to listen to, but it can be appreciated in its multiple hidden nuances in a pool of mercury and should be savored with great caution.
