Among the 79 demos released by the mephistophelean jester of black metal Zarach 'Baal' Tharagh (and mind you, BAAL is in quotes, eh), there was really a lot to choose from, so I consulted my inseparable bancolotto and the first number drawn was 22. Amen.
Demo 22: the primitive era; paleolithic quality production, an archetypal manifestation of the finest crap to enjoy in just (and I emphasize JUST) twenty-four minutes.
Gnarly and bone-crushing guitar(s?), a full set of world house/media shopping drums, vocals echoing a constipated caveman groaning "bleaweeeeeh", "yaoyoaaaaarrgh", "hhhhhhh" and "mamma".
Atmospheres as unhealthy and smelly as a swamp of frenzied metalhead skeletons in the throes of wild headbanging. Songs (?) that are quite pleasant and catchy in their fresh and invigorating decay, preferably listened to on the beach at Ferragosto, but also on New Year's Eve. [For your anniversary, I would recommend demo 68 "Nekrotechnologie".]
An absolutely indispensable work, just like the remaining 78 demos (in addition to the 25 splits and two full-lengths) that, with the permission of the esteemed DeBaseriota public, I will proceed to review.
ZOT!
