I honestly don't know where to start. Who are the musicians in question? I have no idea! Where do they come from? Fog in Valpadana.

And yet, this album has dazed me and opened my third eye. It seems, from reading a few scant reviews in English, that the band comes from the metal scene (the most extreme kind), but at the same time, it's clear they have completely detached from such a reality.

Ambient, Drone, Shoegaze, Industrial, etc.... these are labels that might help you understand what I'm dealing with. In these times, which I consider sad and dull, many metal bands have chosen to turn towards "instrumental," "noise," or "trip" forms. Think of Nadja, CERTAIN aspects of Cult of Luna, or Sunn 0))).
With Yoga, we move on a similar, though not identical, stage. Fog, darkness, ice, noise that seems to be the prelude to eternal silence.

If this is the new path taken by many long-haired folks... well, I can only be happy!
It all began with the most rarefied doom, with "Cold Meat Industry" products, and with the productions of sacred monsters like Scorn. The process then moved towards gothic, shoegaze, and psychedelic (70s) sounds.

Should I venture one of my usual comparisons? Yes. Blend together Jesu, My Bloody Valentine, the already mentioned Nadja, and dark ambient. Add something of post-rock. You shouldn't be far off.

Only whispers and no words.

Everything is so sweet yet also damn unsettling.

If I had more to add, I would gladly do so. But for now, all I can write is what listening to "Megafauna" has inspired in me. And sorry if that's not much.
