They are good, and Karen, the singer, feels absolutely at home on stage.
For those who haven't seen them live, there's a video of "Isis" on YouTube that speaks volumes. Third album at the same excellent level as the previous ones. A beautiful single "Zero" that kicks it all off. They are from New York but they ride the same wave as the Canadian band Metric.
The Yeahs might be less tight live, but Karen makes up for it with her voice, presence, and charisma. A charisma somewhat lacking in Emily Haines of Metric. The CD is enjoyable from start to finish. However, the band should also be seen live to better appreciate their studio work.
Like Metric, they are now an indie chart-topping band, and a track from their second album even reached the 12th position here in Italy. I don't care much if they chart, quite the contrary... What else to say, they are pretty well known here on Debaser.
If I have preempted someone who might have specialized in the Yeahs, I apologize. But the album deserved it.
