Since there were already some reviews of this album (one or two, I don't remember), instead of making it so academic and factual, you might have let yourself tap more into the emotions, which this album extremely allows, much like in the review of "Pink Moon." Because as it is, it's true, you don't entice the listener. Well, at least you didn't say that Nico is a man (quote). An immense album for me, light years ahead. Nico and John Cale, what a spectacle. And Nico turns out to be an exceptional songwriter.
But do you really believe that hjhjhj knows EVERYTHING? Any review of an album, movie, or book, he knows about it 99% of the time and chimes in. How old are you... 180? Or do you do nothing but watch movies and listen to music all day and night? Then you give your little tips **maybe you should have let yourself go a bit more on the emotions, which this album would allow, definitely, a bit like in the review of "Pink Moon."** But if he had written a review that is a... what a PIECE OF SHIT...
Allow me, Ribaldo, to break a lance in favor of hjhhjij because, in my opinion, if they get involved almost everywhere, it means they have an impressive cultural background... as always, in my opinion and with no hard feelings. If they then don't wish to write a personal review, they are free to do so.
Also because by now you seem like a broken record, either you come across as a joke or you keep repeating the same little thing that’s completely wrong (about a topic I’ve been talking about for years :D). I’m not telling you to step back to preserve your dignity just because you’ve never had it. MAKES US LAUGH!
Oh yes, today we're doing a double feature of extreme uselessness. Do you really think you can say anything that hasn’t been said about albums released more than 40 years ago? Among other things, if you were writing "blog posts" I would be fine with it, but instead we end up faced with these heavy, banal, and absurdly pretentious essays. But fuck it, from the heart.
You treated that young girl who's settling down pretty poorly. To me! Anyway, finding myself in Home Current, Nico and Led Zeppelin is quite a celebration, and you contributed to that, so credit where it's due. A wonderful album, like "Desertshore" and "The End."
beautiful album, history of music. I have been listening to it often for years, along with Desertshore and Chelsea Girl. The music of Nico, cursed muse, continues to inspire artists and will do so for a long time to come.
Sorry, Nico's album is called "Chelsea Girl," Warhol's film is "Chelsea Girl-S," just like the song ("Chelsea Girls" by Lou Reed) that is on the album "Chelsea Girl." It's normal that some confusion arises; I just wanted to point out that the title of the film is not the same as the title of the record.
My neurons aren't getting tangled, don't worry. What you said I already knew, but those are negligible details. Another story for "In the Court of the Crimson King": heaven forbid it be referred to as the title track "The Court of the Crimson King." That is a serious mistake.
Yes, I was joking, I didn't say you reviewed an album for another one. Anyway, I join HJ, the judgment on "Chelsea Girl" is up for reconsideration, although I respect it; the version of "I'll Keep It With Mine" for me is second only to Sandy Denny's, and I've said it all.
I would say that the emotions conveyed by this singer are unique, a truly exceptional interpreter. Some of you, from what I've read, seem to underestimate her gifts; it's a shame because you're missing out on something extraordinary. Unmissable for those who love the new wave and especially the music of Joy Division.
A chilling masterpiece that follows "Chelsea Girl," a decent pop album (with folk and "chamber" influences). It's surprising that with "Desertshore" it will do even better.
Great review! Thank God there are school reviews like yours @paolofreddie and not just those ramblings about albums that remind us of cold winter days or sad hookups with ex-girlfriends. Well done. A seminal and terrifying album.
