You always write so well, and she is my teenage dream-nightmare, but in the end, I really want to understand how you came up with the idea of writing a review. Just because you think it's good modern soul? I would also happily look for good modern soul, but I would never ever approach the Carey who made tracks like the cover of Without You or Dream Lover or Heartbreaker... And anyway, if I had one of her CDs, I really don’t think I could put it in the player; rather, I would masturbate over it, lamenting just because the hole in the CD is too tight.

I started to hate her the moment she began to put those annoying yet useless "hihihiiiihihihiiiiii" runs in every song of every album. However, I fondly remember a video from about ten years ago where, tied to a chair, she proudly showed off two kilometers of legs...
Come on, you wanted to do it. Considering your previous reviews, one has to believe that it’s not Mariah’s musical side that attracts you. And indeed, suspicion arises.
Marpa, that was the video for "Honey" (in that video she was stunningly beautiful). Syl, no, don’t let any doubts creep in; I grew up with Mariah Carey, she has always been enjoyed in this house, and as long as I can remember, I adore her. I don't deny that she is a very beautiful woman (even now that she has gained a bit of weight), but I also really love her music :D. Thanks again, everyone :)

A beautiful voice does not make an artist. A nice body and a pretty face neither. 2 out of 5 for the review because it supports a thesis without providing convincing arguments to back it up... One might wonder if it is listened to not for its artistic qualities (which are absent, in my opinion) but for other reasons. Otherwise, if we truly want to review pop, the quality kind, there are so many Artists (with a capital A) to discover...
These fascinating pop stars are always there, rubbing against 1) the hallways of luxury hotels 2) luxurious supercars 3) gigantic heart-shaped beds. They can't even walk upright! I mean, if you apply some brushes to their lamé outfits, you could even have them clean your house... It must be terrible for them to do grocery shopping... I can just picture them rubbing against the shelves, knocking over all the products under the furious gaze of the clerks, and then when they finally make it to the checkout, they collapse breathlessly on the conveyor belt, surrounded by jars and milk cartons... Oh yes, it's a tough life for a pop star!
When I was 13, I adored her. Now I don't anymore. Objectively, her very first albums were nice, a certain level of Pop, and her image was of a completely different kind: I remember her in bell-bottoms with just a hint of a low-cut top singing "I can't liiiive, if living is without you, I can't liiiiive, I can't give anymooooore!! CAN'T LIIIIIVE IF LIVING IS WITHOUT YOU, I CAN'T LIIIIVE, I CAN'T GIVE ANIMOOOOOOOOORE!!". I also remember that, besides the more modest image, she even included Bible verses in her CDs and was a supporter of moral values and Protestantism. After that, she married one of the top Hip Hop producers, changed genre, shifting to B-list Hip Hop/Pop/R'n'B, and in her videos, she displays her ass and tits while acting like a seductive cat, rubbing herself on a couch... What a pity.
But is she still alive??? I thought that after the dreadful combo of movie + album (Glitter if I'm not mistaken) she had killed herself with drugs... O)))

I’ve only heard a couple of songs, but I don’t mind that girl whom someone called "the heir to Billie Holiday," because she has a (vaguely!) similar tone of voice... Does anyone know her name?
Chorus girl? Have you ever listened to her early albums? Butterfly? That’s where the decline began – despite enjoying great commercial success – marked by very rare gems. Among them, however, Music Box and the first one. Mariah Carey no longer exists; Nietzsche would say she is dead.
Good review. I won't rate the album because I haven't listened to it all, but the singles are definitely forgettable. For me, she ended in '97 with "Butterfly."
Listened. "Mine Again," "Joy Ride," and "Fly Like A Bird" are pleasant; the rest doesn't say much to me. I give it a 3 because there was and currently is worse (including, at least for me, his later works).
