WOPS - Il giorno onirico

(Self-production)

Wops is a derogatory term used by Americans in the early 1900s to refer to Italian immigrants, but Wops are also a new great discovery. With their debut album, they bring to Italy an indie rock sound that closely resembles that of Deerhunter.

They have been playing together for ten years, have written dozens of songs, recorded a self-produced EP, and now present Il giorno onirico, their first official album. The idea behind the album is very interesting, as it centers all the songs on the concept of dreams and their various facets.

The sounds are simple yet intense, thanks to the use of effects and echoes that make everything very abstract and ethereal.

The genre is rock, but also indie, psychedelia, and singer-songwriter, given the well-crafted and expressive lyrics.

The style is characterized by simple rhythms that blend perfectly with light acoustic guitars and classic indie riffs, all accompanying a very expressive, slightly melancholic voice.
