Thanks to a courteous user of these pages, I discovered a very, very interesting reality. The group is called Woods of Desolation (don't be negatively impressed by the name) and they offer what, these days, is defined as "Depressive Black Metal" or, even better, "Post-Black Metal."

Woods of Desolation play music with an ancestral and deeply melancholic flavor. Yet they come neither from the cold lands of the Vikings nor from decadent Albion. This is an Australian reality led by someone named D. (these nicknames are amusing! Let's just hope he doesn't end up like B of Lifelover).

Black Metal is just one component of the music you'll hear, because there is also something Doom and even Shoegaze. I'm not joking.

The acoustic parts are also very beautiful, giving the whole a touch of mysterious calm.

Some might wonder if there really are traces of Shoegaze. The term, in this case, should be taken "with a grain of salt," but yes, there are guitar riffs and distortions that precisely recall that type of sound.

An album to dream with open eyes, to sleep, or to personally experience hallucinations. The band is young but demonstrates talent and ability. Don't miss out on them.
