Windhand is an American doom metal band formed in Richmond, Virginia, in 2008.

Formed in Richmond, Virginia (2008). Notable vocalist: Dorthia Cottrell. Releases include Soma (2013), Grief's Infernal Flower (2015) and Eternal Return (2018). Associated with Relapse Records for some releases.

The review highlights Windhand's slow, heavy, psychedelic doom textures and the "catatonic female voices" that define much of Soma. Tracks cited include Orchard, Woodbine, Evergreen and Boleskine.
