LA RECENSIONE

Spectacular Album.

The English band Wiht is an instrumental trio from Leeds (England), dedicated to a form of post-metal/sludge with strong celestial/spatial hues (reminiscent of the best 35007) that captivated me from the first listen.

"Harrowing Of The North" despite its short duration of just 33 minutes succeeds in the aim of leaving the listener fascinated and amazed, two tracks two (the title track surpasses the 20-minute mark) that achieve the difficult task of perfectly blending and merging violent sludge-doom flavored blasts, spatial progressions soaked in chilling seventies psychedelia and an alternation of atmospheres and instrumental elaborations ranging from post-rock to the early grandiose post-metal Pelican (those of "The Fire Throath..." to be clear) and all supported by inventiveness, inspiration and a creative as well as instrumental capacity that makes the listeners’ eyes and ears sparkle.

This is not intended to be a review, but a highly recommended listening suggestion. Those concerned (I mean those who like this stuff, and on DeBaser there's more than a few) should perk up their ears and take note of this album and this band... they could surely remain fascinated.
