Nothing, Nothing

From Iceland, a land where nothing merges with everything and it's easier to believe in the supernatural, the We Made God.

It's useless to ask why they chose the name, they will never tell you. It's useless to wonder whether Icelandic landscapes influence their music or not: it’s so obvious. You have already understood everything about We Made God, or perhaps you have understood nothing yet.

It’s post-rock, post-metal, as many play it nowadays, but they have something more. Or maybe it’s nothing. Close your eyes, and if you don’t, it doesn’t matter, you will feel compelled to do so after a while: this music is not contingent. It is the pure abstraction of atmospheres and violent guitars, desperate voices.

OBSESSION and FRENZY

Dante’s Inferno Canto V looming over the notes of Brennt Barn Fordast Eldinn, the power of the words and the power of the sounds ("We Have Lost The Battle, We Have Lost The War", "The Start Is A Finish Line"), the ice and the heat permeating everything.

Already too many words for this music that does not need them. NOTHING

Glossolalia or speaking in tongues is the fluent vocalizing (or, less commonly, the writing) of speech-like syllables, often as part of religious practice. Though some consider these utterances to be meaningless, others consider them to be a holy language.
