The sensitivity of We Made God is growing remarkably, and their music is becoming more refined.
Fragments is a self-produced EP released in the fall of 2011, three new tracks that bode well, already mark a change, although not a striking one, compared to It’s Getting Colder from just a few months prior. Nothing revolutionary, not yet, but it’s clear the band is looking to the future, doesn’t want to repeat itself; they are exploring. In the meantime, the sounds become more sophisticated, but no less powerful, and the vocals are increasingly personal and magnetic.
Untitled a hypnotic riff introduces us to the first track, welcome back to the world of We Made God. The intensity builds slowly, the screams intensify but never wear out.
Post another one of their riffs, another great instrumental buildup sets up an engaging and catchy chorus. Towards the end, the tempo increases once more for a run into the void.
Dron on an evocative instrumental, the voice is alienated, yet strangely enveloping. Then it transforms into a scream and reveals the insane power the band has accustomed us to; there couldn't be a better ending.
A business card, quite interesting.
