LA RECENSIONE

This album is also among those I appreciated the most in this "mid-2005"! It is a little gem! They greatly remind me of the Phasers in "Sway" and Ray in "First Light", two other bands that pleasantly surprised me in the past! Surprised because, like with Washington, I had discovered them somewhat by chance amidst general indifference.

It is music suitable for a sensitive audience, in search of melodies that are both melancholic and mellifluous, gracefully constructed with the use of keyboards, acoustic guitars, and drums. The voice is a beautiful one, distinctive, sweet and seductive, reminiscent of Andrew Montgomery (Geneva) and often Tom Yorke. It is "melodic rock" without particular fervor, where the voice takes center stage amidst voluptuous ballads.

To be clear, it's not a masterpiece and some might even find it tedious, ordinary if not mediocre. It's a matter of taste as usual. 4 stars because that's just how it is and besides, you can't always give a 5!
