War From A Harlots Mouth, from Berlin, are making their debut (having previously only released a split with Molotov Solution), but they are driven by the right spirit, the one that should burn in the minds and hearts of new generations of bands. Wanting to analyze the current condition, we must acknowledge that the tools (technological and otherwise) are there, alongside the historical memory of decades of sounds and genres. Therefore, for a debuting band, it's crucial to understand that in order to reach interesting musical levels (and not mere replicas or carbon copies), one must possess technical skills, a critical spirit, the necessary reasoning, the willingness not to limit oneself to the obvious, determination, and conviction. Perhaps even money, but that’s a different chapter.

Too often, we come across bands that limit themselves due to a lack of courage or obvious creative shortcomings (even if sometimes they are supported by acceptable instrumental competence); however, the presence of those factors makes the difference. Sometimes they are missing, sometimes they are not allowed to emerge, and sometimes (as in the case of WFAHM) they shine in all their brilliance and enable the creation of works worthy of attention like "Transmetropolitan." Eleven tracks (where the titles already indicate a certain modus operandi: "Fighting Wars With Keyboards", "If You Want To Blame Us For Something Wrong, Please Abuse This Song!", or "And In The Right To Make Mistakes, We May Lose And Start Again", for example), that blend hyper-kinetic grind/math-core, jazzy phrases, brutal death, bone-crushing noise-core, a measured amount of controlled chaos, and an evident structural complexity. But also pleasant surprises, like the trip hop of "Trife Life". References lead us to name Dillinger Escape Plan, Meshuggah, Cephalic Carnage, Knut, Skinless, and Cynic, but the path chosen is one that opts for a personalized, coherent, and balanced interpretation between the parts.

Potentially, they can go even further, and I am convinced that by introducing greater variety and other "sound derivations" (perhaps industrial), they will reach great heights.
