The Profile

Vyāsa (also Vyāsadeva) is a legendary ancient Indian sage traditionally credited with composing the Mahābhārata and with the placement/compilation of the Bhagavad Gītā within that epic.

Traditionally regarded as the author of the Mahābhārata and associated with the Bhagavad Gītā; often named Vyāsadeva or Kṛṣṇa Dvaipāyana in classical sources. The Bhagavad Gītā is commonly described as about 700 verses divided into 18 chapters (cantos).

A single DeBaser review by Stanlio offers an enthusiastic, personal reading of the Bhagavad Gītā (Italian edition). The review mixes concise exposition of the text with a nostalgic anecdote about the reviewer’s friendship with members of the Hare Krishna movement. The piece treats Vyāsa as the traditional author/compiler of the Mahābhārata and situates the Gītā within that epic.
