THE REVIEW

"Polvere" is the debut album of Vogan, a band devoted to a very Italian-style rock. Being a debut album, one can find within it certain strengths and moments of uncertainty that perhaps will need to improve in the future.

But let's proceed in order. The thing that struck me the most at first listen was the "packaging" of the product: no sound is left to chance, every drum beat, every guitar is the result of studio work that seems to have been truly meticulous. I listen to this album and it seems like I have in my ears a sound from a major label production, so to speak. And this is a fundamental aspect that young bands too often overlook, and fortunately, this is not the case here.

The tracks are there, the title track first and foremost, and they flow well. Maybe some turn out to be a bit filler, but that's a problem many debut albums have, and we certainly don't hold it against the boys. The "verse/chorus" formula is undoubtedly successful and gives the whole thing a pop touch that doesn't hurt, making the entire album easy to listen to and causing you to hum Vogan's songs just when you thought you'd left this work behind.

I feel compelled to say that what these guys will need to work on most in the future will be the lyrics, because too often on this album they fall into somewhat cliché rhymes: have a bit of courage, young ones, there are many different solutions, you can definitely experiment more. That said, I feel like recommending the album to anyone who wants a good rock album made in Italy, without the pretense of being a new milestone but simply to provide a pleasant half-hour for the listener.
