The Visthia have been on the scene for fifteen long years. During this time, they have shown good judgment by releasing their material only when it truly made sense to do so, in defiance of all those new bands on the scene that churn out work one after another without any criteria.

The Sicilian band had already demonstrated their worth back in 2006 (distant, musically speaking), when they released their full-length debut, and to this day, they have found a way to reinvent and update their sound, making it perfectly current without falling into the abyss of trendy fashion.

"In Aeternum Deleti" is the perfect calling card of a band that has reached its maturity from every point of view: the songwriting is mature and fluid, thanks also to an instrumental technique that is decidedly above the genre's average. From this perspective, I feel compelled to openly praise Francesco Gemelli, who performs impeccable work behind the drums, alternating between martial and minimal rhythms of great impact and crushing accelerations executed with surgical precision. An aspect impossible to overlook is also the almost perfect production combined with a meticulous attention to every detail, which once again demonstrates how Visthia move with intelligence and style.

This is an album that successfully meets the challenging task of sounding new, personal, and experimental without overdoing it, remaining perfectly coherent in every track and offering a listening experience that is quite easy to digest despite the frequent incursions of extremist electronic music.

The final remark I can't hold back is the praise for the well-crafted artwork, as distorted as it is elegant, a clear visual representation of the band's music. The visual element is important as the music fundamentally consists of three core elements: musical, visual, and conceptual. Each of these three aspects carries its weight in evaluating a work, and one cannot be conceived without the others, just as music cannot be conceived solely as an audio track in mp3 format. Visthia excellently manage these three cores. Hats off.
