"Let the kingdom be of the dogs"
Sometimes, we music enthusiasts (putting it like that sounds so cold, I realize, but I couldn't think of a better way) search for the perfect album.
But, come to think of it, it's in life that we seek perfection.
In a woman. Or a man. In a dog and, indeed, within ourselves. In a cell phone, in a "cotechino"... And even to get ourselves in the mood on a porn site, we need the perfect image.
But, then, isn't "happiness really something for others"?
Sixth album for Virginiana and, although the days of desecrated ice cream parlors are far away, the passion and class remain unchanged.
An album that captures the essence of the troubled times we live in. Contemporary while rooting itself in the past. Full of references (even Aldo Moro: "And an immense tenderness of mine passes through your hands") without descending into sterile self-indulgence.
An album that requires continuous listening, like a relentless punching of a timecard, as it is imbued with faith (said, for the record, by a fervent non-believer).
Faith in love ("Light of my eyes trembles in flames on broken mirrors in tears"), in the future ("I wish you would say yes, to this beautiful day, The air is clean; the road is dry; the rain, drop by drop, has already fallen"), and even in a bit of healthy mea culpa ("circumcise your heart and chest and open yourselves to the wind").
But, since in the "dog pound," it's easy to fight over dubious bones, give yourself a gift: Listen (in the TRUE sense of the word) to this album, as if it were the last thing to do, as if it "were the last normal thing, the last special effect".Tracklist and Videos
