Musical Group

Vinicius de Moraes (1913–1980) was a Brazilian poet, lyricist, diplomat and composer, a central figure in bossa nova who collaborated with artists such as Baden Powell, Antônio Carlos Jobim, Toquinho and Maria Creuza.

Authored lyrics for important bossa nova songs including "Chega de Saudade"; collaborated with Baden Powell on O Afrosambas; born in Rio de Janeiro (1913), died 1980.

A nostalgic, poetic appraisal of La Fusa that celebrates Vinicius de Moraes's lyrical grace and the intimate performances by Maria Creuza and Toquinho. The reviewer highlights the melodic lightness and melancholy, cites O Afrosambas as Vinicius's great album and notes Maria Creuza's rendition of "Chega de saudade" as especially moving. The only shortcoming noted is the absence of "Chega de saudade" from this album.

For:Fans of bossa nova and Brazilian music, lovers of lyrical poetry and nostalgic listeners.

The first crash: a man with a rough voice and very lively eyes saying: "I don't like the alarm clock." "Imagine that," I think to myself.
