A year after the release of the album "Da solo", Vinicio Capossela returns to the music market with great style, releasing a live album with 15 tracks on CD, and 30 video tracks on DVD, titled "Solo Show Alive" in a box set containing excerpts from his latest tour of 60 dates.

The artistic greatness of Vinicio Capossela is fully stored in every single song sung, in every single one of his speeches, and in every single minute of the video which shows the amount of work behind this show, featuring musicians, circus attractions, unusual instruments, and his songs, which live are even more beautiful than the originals sung in the studio. There are all the peculiar characters already described in his past songs, there’s the "nerviosa" jellyfish, there’s the magician, the rabbit-man, the abyssal mermaid, the minotaur, the diver octopus, the living man, the tightrope walker...all that represents the various facets of the human being within us.

Most of the tracks come from the latest album, but there are also beautiful versions of songs from the very successful and well-crafted "Canzoni a manovella", such as the stunning "Bardamù" and "I Pagliacci", as well as "Canzoni a manovella". But there are also the splendid "Medusa Cha Cha Cha", "Marajà", "Che coss'è l'amor", and "All'una e trentacinque circa".

There is also an unreleased track: "Gymnastika", a tribute to the songwriter Vladimir Vitsovski, sung while simulating gymnastic exercises as a cage is built around him.

It’s an exciting live performance, both to listen to and to watch, and certain songs truly give the sensation of being there among the audience enjoying this wonderful show, feeling the chills on the skin, underlining the beauty of music, his music.

The show reaches its most touching moment when Vinicio Capossela, before singing the song "In clandestinità", recites some lines from Vincenzo Costantino "Cinasky"'s poem titled "Le Cento Città"; here are the words: "... Everyone has their own prisons, everyone lives with them...but when the walls start to close in, when the mirror begins to call you 'tu'... when the sidewalks provoke you and the street seems like your red carpet, gather your luggage, fill it with memories, hopes, emotions, music and arguments, with period illusions...find a friend and start sharing, go at random...leave the tears on the pillow, meet life, clash with pain, steal love, have not one goal but a hundred; try to return because it’s the return that gives meaning to the journey, go around the world, do not go with it; free yourself from yourself and from waiting, to love life you must betray expectations, look around and beware of those who profess to be free, the taste of freedom and fear, only those who fear freedom have the courage to pursue it ...".

The wonderful atmosphere of the show is also made of this, poetic images that flow through every single moment of it, and there is no doubt that albums like this are few and far between. Meanwhile, Vinicio Capossela's tour has resumed with new dates, repeating the same emotions of the previous 60 dates... and it is the best way in which Capossela manages to recount his songs, like a street artist, and if the live of 2006 could be considered a mere commercial operation, this latest musical effort is undoubtedly the firm intent both to share this well-made live with those who could not attend the concerts and to let the songs be heard and seen interpreted in ways differing from the standard tied to the technological perfectionism of studio albums.

For the rest, there are his songs and his way of narrating pieces of life in which we all often recognize ourselves, hiding behind the many masks that serve to protect us from the obstacles we encounter in our path.
