Vidna Obmana was undoubtedly one of the most influential artists in the ambient music scene from the '90s onwards before ceasing activity in 2005. Behind this name operated the Belgian Dirk Serries, an artist of integrity who is still active and first gave life to the new project called Fear Falls Burning—focused on treated guitar sounds—and then, after closing this experience as well, continued in the same vein with the series of records dedicated to the Microphonics project. Surely, however, enthusiasts, without taking anything away from the current Dirk Serries, have remained very attached to the old Vidna Obmana, particularly to the first artistic phase in which the Belgian musician released true masterpieces of the ambient genre such as the ethereal and refined Passage In Beauty (1991), the gothic and dark Shadowing In Sorrow (1992), and the profound and decadent Ending Mirage (1993): these records formed an ideal and mythical trilogy both in terms of sound and visual aspects and were re-released in a single box by the American label Relic. Now, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary, Zoharum has fortunately decided to reissue the trilogy. It has been awaited by ambient lovers and collectors for a long time: by now, the individual records had even reached significant quotes in online auctions. If you don't know them yet, I can only advise you to immediately make this trilogy yours: it is an absolute must-have of the genre and should not be missing from any respectable electronic music collection. This new edition features new graphics and a new mastering job by the artist himself. The standard version comes in an edition of 400 copies in a beautiful 8-panel gigipack. The cover design is based on a photograph by Martina Verhoeven, Dirk Serries' partner. A limited wooden box is also available that contains, in addition to the 3 CDs, 3 cassettes.
