THE REVIEW

This 1994 album by Veruca Salt is really great! We're in the era when alternative rock is booming!!!
13 tracks that are very varied and complex! From the lightheartedness of Seether to much more serious and poetic sounds and lyrics like "Sleeping Where I Want" (This is my favorite disease... I am sleeping in his dreams) and "Spiderman '79" (You're so nice, you tie me in a web and cradle me 'til dawn).

Musically speaking, the guitars, for the most part, loaded with very refined distortion and creators of spacey solos (just listen to Forsythia), take center stage in ballads that are anything but trivial, immersing the listener in reverberating echoes and uncertain sounds. The two guitarists, Louise Post and Nina Gordon (a collaborator with James Iha of the Smashing Pumpkins on a track from his solo album) take turns in the vocals and writing usually abstract and enigmatic lyrics.

An excellent album, therefore, recommended for lovers of alternative rock and anyone who wants to hear something original (despite the release date), without giving up after the first listen, which could be slightly challenging!
