Verdunkeln

Started in 1998 as a side project of Graupel (a Raw Black Metal band from Aachen). Became a duo (Gnarl and Ratatyske). Creates dark, refined black metal with doom and ambient influences; German lyrics; notable for long, complex tracks.

The album Einblick in den Qualenfall (reviewed 2007) contains 6 tracks of long duration and dense arrangements. The project describes itself as presenting a darker, more refined face than Graupel. Lyrics are in German and are curated but not foregrounded.
