The EndKadenz Tour records Sold Out everywhere, and the date in Catania at Barbara DiscoLab is no exception. It's the only event for Sicily and Calabria, so the venue is overwhelmed by a number of people far exceeding the actual capacity of the room, causing a huge series of complaints and refund requests from those who couldn't properly attend the Live, or even from those who couldn't attend at all. The evening is kickstarted by Jennifer Gentle: I had never heard them before, despite always being accompanied by flattering reviews from industry insiders. I must say that the impression I got from this live performance didn't excite me: seemingly disjointed pieces without any logical connection except the attempt to surprise as much as possible with sudden structure changes that leave nothing to the listener but a huge question mark in their eyes. Once their show is over, it's the turn of the "hosts," who immediately make it clear that they haven't abandoned their sound violence after Wow: the concert begins with the opener of the new album, "Ho una Fissa," characterized by highly saturated distortions of both bass and guitar, like in the good old days of Requiem. The start of the concert is filled with pieces from the new album, interspersed with a few excerpts from Wow (notable is the performance of "Loniterp," with an instrumental ending extended compared to the CD); the live, however, begins to come alive when it's time for the splendid "Starless," directly from "Solo un grande sasso" and always relevant with its 5/4 riff and its psychedelia in the central part. From this moment, the concert takes flight through the execution of classics like "Valvonauta" and "Razzi, Arpia, Inferno e Fiamme" (the latter with a totally different arrangement from the original), "Don Calisto" and "Luna," and the best episodes of the new album, like "Nevschio," "Puzzle," "Inno del perdersi" and a highly extended version (with an extremely long finale) of "Rilievo," which, along with the concluding suite "Funeralus," is one of the best performances of the concert. In conclusion, the new CD might not be on the level of previous works, but live, the three (four, given the addition of a new touring member for this tour) never disappoint thanks to their energy and the sonic impact of their pieces: try it to believe it!

Spaceman
la fine è qui e ti cullerà
io temo di vincerti
la vertigine in volo
nessuno saprà mai che in questo cielo
dovrò concluderti nel blu
io nel blu
Spaceman
tu giura è qui che m'incontrerai
e sarai simile a me
in ogni io che sei..tudutu..
in ogni io che sei..tudutu..
in ogni io che sei..tudutu..
in ogni io che sei..tudutu..
in ogni io che sei..tudutu..
in ogni io che sei..tudutu..
Spaceman
la fine è qui e ti cullerà
io temo di vincerti
la vertigine in volo
respira in vene lisce e questo è bene
dovrò concluderti
concluderti...
spaceman

An album truly worth listening to... a 'cure for the ears' that makes human senses transcend into infinity.
Every note, every piece, and every sound is delicately curated, researched, and intended to give the album a distinct imprint.

Solo Un Grande Sasso remains an excellent album and the best of Verdena, proof of the band’s strength.
One of the best albums of 2001, and without a doubt a record to be listened to, without prejudice.

Starting from the beautiful cover and moving through the sounds filled with deep inadequacy, we find ourselves in a composition limbo that is nothing short of embarrassing.
An album to say the least overrated.

Solo un grande sasso is their most challenging album for the ears, remaining structurally and compositionally multifaceted.
Give them time and trust, it will bring satisfaction and addiction, like all their albums.
