Devastating!!!
There are no words to describe such an intense and adrenaline-charged evening, like the one felt at the Havana Club. As soon as we heard about Verdena’s arrival in Naples, we rushed like mad to buy the tickets, and I must say the price was more than worth it. There were three of us: Me (Luca), David, and Simona, but in total ecstasy, we followed the concert divided, scattered in the mosh pit. But let’s get to the point: the concert!
After a couple of hours of entertainment with hilarious tracks ranging from ska, punk, and alternative, and after a beer bath, where, not knowing how to dry himself off, my dear friend David, here next to me, used the clothing of a stranger standing in front of him… the stage went dark, psychedelic lights came on, and the four wild guys burst in!
The dances opened with "17 Tir Nel Cortile", we went wild with the following "Logorrea", and so came "Ovunque", to David's delight, who at that moment let out a scream worthy of Albano in his heyday. The setlist presented a random selection of many songs taken from all three albums, from the famous "Viba" and "Valvonauta" to the psychedelic "Nova" and "Starless", almost all the tracks from the new album (and it seems obvious to me), and to my delight, the setlist also featured that atomic bomb named "Stenuo", where I went wild like a circus animal. It must be emphasized the significant absence of "Centrifuga" (in my opinion, the best piece that Verdena has ever written) and "Ultranoia" (another great track by the Bergamasque trio).
Another downside of the evening was the venue’s audio, which was absolutely terrible, and Alberto's voice was completely drowned out by the instruments and the amplifiers were constantly screeching... but one might say: who cares!! We partied and made an incredible mess! A few mistakes here and there emerged, like in "Nova", when they messed up the start and Roberta apologized to the audience, we forgave her by shouting “Robè si nu femmnon!!” and the chaos resumed! Personally, I loved the intimate and Underground atmosphere at the Havana Club, where with such a small stage and venue, it really felt like a get-together among friends. Despite their success, Verdena have not become conceited, but have remained always humble and damn destructive!
The concert ended with the beautiful "Glamodrama", which was the icing on the cake of a perfect night… At the end of the concert, and I don't know how many of you might care in the slightest, the three of us exchanged phone numbers with two guys we met. Damn! Five months later, David and I realized that those two sneaky guys didn't care about our number at all, but it was an old trick to get Simona's number!! Come on guys! Go for it!!!
Joking aside, to conclude, I would like to thank the legendary Verdena for the wonderful evening they gave us with the hope of seeing you soon in Naples, moshing under the notes of your songs!
