Detrimentalist translated means Detrimentalist.

Aaron Funk, known as Venetian Snares, is a rather prolific Canadian artist, so prolific that he ponders, materializes, adjusts, and ships off to the collective neuron an average of 5/6 albums a year.

Music for cardiac arrhythmia.

Not to distrust the little professors of Dub and the assiduous and always upfront rave-goers, rich in extrasensory experiences and creators of a rave ethic that calling ridiculous would be magnanimous, but I find myself asserting that the digital lump titled Detrimentalist made by Venetian Snares is fabulous, it is energetic, it is interesting and it is unpredictable.

Music for leaving (what? … leave it).

A preamble probably due to my personal and insecure quest for popular consensus.

The web talks little of Detrimentalist, the points of view are roughly the same and can be summarized as: “Useless work for an artist now obsolete and repetitive, even though there is a whiff of interesting turns”. It might be that, to tell the truth, I don't know much else about the unattractive Aaron Funk, I will look to inform myself (musically speaking) but right now I'm not interested in knowing anything else and I'm enjoying this little gem of the most badass electronics, the most frantic Dub, the least reggae-like reggae in the world, the most tunz tunz of tunz, of the jungle (now obsolete) that reached my ears.

Music for animals.

Listening to Detrimentalist while walking in the full countryside (I have the opportunity having the fabulous Marche countryside right behind my house) at dawn or dazed by the orange of the summer sunset is an experience that gives energy, joy, and pleasure, we're talking simple fun.

The same walk (it's just a walk) with De André: the result was not quite the same.

Music for non-dancing.

Setting aside my very free point of view and my extrasensory experiences (little extra and even less sensory) Detrimentalist is a continuous flow of sounds, reggae bases, distortions of popular melodies, hardcore, techno, electronic, minimal, jungle and a healthy and unpredictable tunz tunz.
