LA RECENSIONE

After a solid debut ("We All Bleed") and scattered shows across Europe, the Venetian band Vault 13 returns with a new EP titled "Your God Is A Lie." A strong title for a work that fundamentally brings to light the continuous evolution of the band, which, despite constant lineup changes, always manages to give their offering a distinctly recognizable touch.

The love for the raw and wild side of punk-rock in the style of Cancer Bats remains unchanged, as does the keen interest of the band members in current trends in overseas sound. The final result is decidedly satisfying; the group has done a good job in the songwriting phase, leading to the creation of interesting tracks like "Ride With The Devil" and "Martyrs," where Vault 13's live attitude prevails with the pedal constantly to the metal. As the American tradition dictates, the sounds are crystal clear and at the same time suitably powerful, thanks to the excellent work done by Maurizio Baggio at Hate Studio, which adds even more vigor and impact to the whole. There aren’t any significant changes in the lyrics; the screaming is intense and sharp at just the right point, and the choice to place easy listening choruses at the center of the songs is a wise decision if conceived from a live performance perspective. Six tracks are definitely a nice appetizer to start from, especially if the content is as tasty and engaging as that offered by Vault 13.

Awaiting the second album, the judgment can only be positive. Keep it up.
