First of all, the person reviewing this album is a huge fan of Italian splatter films (Fulci, Lenzi, Massaccesi) so the review of this album might be considered biased.

Eros & Thanatos is the debut album of the young Milanese rapper Vashish, the main representative of our local horrorcore scene (Testo a.k.a. "Il Sarcofago" isn't exactly a rapper and I've always found Dsa Commando rather inconsistent).

The lyrics seem almost like the Italian translation of the American rapper Necro who, with his "I Need Drugs" and "Gory Days," established himself in the American scene as the horrorcore rapper par excellence; the beats, despite their simplicity, hit hard and aptly accompany the discomfort and unhealthy creative madness of the rapper, who masterfully crafts rhymes mostly inspired by famous gore (Flowers of Flesh and Blood), historical serial killers (Ted Bundy and company), and his disdain for the Italian clerical system (echoing "Non Dormire" by Noyz Narcos).

The features, all from members of his crew (Blacklist), are all of great quality, but B's verse in "Aldilà" simply reaches perfection (in its most rotten sense possible).

Highly recommended album for underground rap fans and enthusiasts of a certain genre of filmography.
